What is the Patient Portal?

Our patient portal is a safe, secure, PAK-hosted web site that allows parents to access certain parts of their children’s medical records. The Patient Portal  is accessible through computers, tablets, and smart phones.

How do I sign up for the Patient Portal?

You will need to print off our Patient Portal Enrollment Form or obtain one from our PSR's at our check-in desk.

What are the Benefits to Parents Using the Portal?

You can enjoy quick, easy access to important parts of your children’s medical records. You can see, print, and download this information at your convenience, without having to call the office. You can keep track of important dates, milestones and immunizations from anywhere you have internet access.

At PAK, we’re committed to bringing cutting-edge access, communication, and technology to our patient and family experience. Putting your children’s medical records at your fingertips is an exciting way for us to fulfill that commitment and provide you with an unparalleled patient experience.

What Parts of My Children’s Medical Records Can I See and Print at Home?

You can access information on Allergies, Diagnostic Tests, Growth Charts, Immunizations,  and Patient Notes for both well and sick visits. We’ll continue to add more access and interactive features as they become available. If the patient is 18 years or older they must request their own personal Patient Portal access account. Once your child turns 18 years of age you can no longer view their portal information through your Parental Portal.

What is Secure Electronic Messaging System?

Patient Portal users can exchange messages with their pediatric practice through secure electronic messaging. Secure Electronic Messaging is the capability for patients to send a non- urgent secure electronic message to our office and receive a response within 3 business days.

Is the Patient Portal Really Safe and Secure?

Absolutely. We’ve invested in a secure server and a secure web domain (denoted by the in the https:// portion of our Patient Portal’s URL) to ensure the safety and confidentiality of your children’s medical records. Our two-step registration process, in which every PAK  Patient Portal account is individually verified by a PAK staff member before activation, and in which every account receives its own secure password, also ensures that all access to medical records is both accurate and appropriate.

Is There a Cost to Access the Patient Portal?

No. Account creation and registration are free. Once you’re fully registered, you can access your children’s medical records as often as you like for free.

Can More Than One Parent Create a Patient Portal Account (i.e., for divorced, separated and/or non-related parents)?

Yes. That’s one of the reasons we tie portal access to specific email addresses — so that individual parents or caregivers can each have access to the same children’s records.

Can I Print My Child’s Immunization Records and Submit Them to Schools, Camps, and Child Care Centers?

Absolutely. You can print the immunization records yourself, any time you want, and submit them directly. We recommend doing a full-screen print, so the people to whom you’re submitting can see that the immunization history comes from our secure patient portal. (For many reasons, this is one of the Patient Portal’s most popular features!) Printing the records for yourself is easy, convenient — and free!

Can I Request Appointments?

Absolutely. Now you can request appointments with PAK through your Patient Portal Account.

Can I Request Prescription Refills?

Yes! Now you can request refills for your children prescriptions through your Patient Portal Account.

Can I Request Referrals?

Yes! Now you can request referrals through your Patient Portal Account.

How Do I Change My Password?

Once you’ve signed in to The Portal, click on the Settings tab (upper right hand corner).  Click on  box for New Password Type the password you want in both boxes, then click the Submit button at the bottom, and your password will be changed.

How Do I Add Another Child to my Patient Portal?

Just give us a call in the office, and we can take care of that in a minute or two. That’s all!

Does Access to the Patient Portal Replace an Office Visit?

Not at all. This is just another means of communication between you and our office. Though it will save you a trip to the office if all you need is a copy of your child’s immunization records.

Giving you access to your children’s medical information in your home, on your own time, helps you stay informed, and also helps us work together to provide the best possible care for your children.

Will There Be More New Features Added to the Patient Portal?

Yes. We’re working on some exciting new functionality for release later this year. Stay tuned to our web site, our Facebook page, and our Twitter feed for more info!
